Help Build Civic System
I am looking for advice on building a sound system for a 2004 Acura 1.7EL, which is basically an upgraded civic. I have already purchased a sub amp, MTX MXA6001, which is rated at 600 Watts RMS. That's all I have so far.
What's left to get:
1) head unit - looking for cd capability, maybe bluetooth upgradeable, decent graphic show to impress friends & neighbours - don't need ipod ability
2) 2 x 6.5" front speakers (has seperate tweeters in doors)
3) 2 x 6X9 speakers for rear
4) 4 channel amp to drive front & rear speakers
5) sub or subs (need small size since wife wants to keep most of the trunk clear)
I am interested in sound quality over loudness. However, I do realize it's gonna be loud anyway.
Once I piece it together I'll post the winning suggestions and who they came from for bragging rights.
Cheers!

Pioneer Decks are the ones with BlueTooth I think may want to look into those otherwise depends on how much $$ I like Alpine and Esclipse.
Speaker wise Im all for staying with one company may want to look into MTX
but this would be my list to look into
Subs. (Tero,RE,DD MTX Kicker)
Amp (MTX Tero Soundstream)
Deck (Poineer Eclipse Alpine Kenwood)
Wire (Stringer or EFX Double or more shielded)
Speakers (Focal DD SoundStream DLS)
and the other question are your going SPL or SQ?

do not do #3 and use the $ on #1 or #2 if you have sub/s will make you think/feel fill
if you go into sq you will not get points for rear fill and will not be the best set up
use your amp set up like 2 of the ch to the mids and the last 2 ch to the highs

This to me is a simple system.
(1) Pioneer Premiere DEHP980MP up front. Bluetooth built in, amazing graphics, great tonal response and will definitely fill the bill.
(2) Front components will vary drastically with your budget.
(3) Nothing wrong with using rear speakers and 6x9's at that. I have heard 6x9' that sound better than "name brand" component speakers.
(3.5) not everyone competes, I like rear fill and would have rear speakers in my own vehicle.
(4) you fit the bill for a 5channel amplifier perfectly. Eclipse XA5000 is the choice for you. Space is a concern, this will eliminate space taken by two amplifiers and save $ on wiring and install time.
(5) I stand by the Eclipse aluminum cone driver for unsurpassed tonal accuracy in it's price range. In 7 years of using these subs, not one has let a customer down yet. 1.25 cu.ft sealed box and it will deliver deep bass response, multi tones and is a great match to the amp.
Need more info, drop me a PM or MSN to forbidden@telus.net
