I won my IDBL class with a whopping 139.8(lowest # i've ever put up...last minute install with issues). I can't remember what happened in the other classes, or the sq side of things, sorry. I do remember that there wasn't many competitors.

I was disapointed with the turnout. 3 SQi-Just me, Mike, and Benz guy from calgary.
1st-Mike Tbird
2nd-Bryce Buick
3rd- Benz dude

I won 2nd in stock 0-160 spl with 122.2db. Some other guy got a 129. I was going to take picutures, but forgot to pull out the camera till it was over. Me and Mike were hassling each other quite a bit. It would be really hard for him to get to the Edmonton show if the cops pulled him over and found those dead hookers in his trunk that I, I mean, he put there.

Ouch, only three?? Sup wit dat? I thought there were going to be a lot more than that according to the thread on who was going to be going! I was at a non-IASCA SQ event this weekend in Richmond, BC and we had FOUR!

Wow, maybe SQ really has died in Alberta. I always figured it was the last bastion of SQ competitors in the west! I hope Derek doesn't get discouraged from wanting to host another show

SQ hasn't died in Alberta. It is just going to take awhile before it really thrives. SPL is so popular. One problem is that so many people come on this website and say they are going to all the shows and never show up. What the hell is with that? If Dereck takes the time to pay for and plan a show the least you can do it acutally show up. Some of these people know who they are I hope.

Benz boy, you can polish a luxury car but it's still just a luxury car with a crap stereo!!!!
I'm just hassling you cuz you have 24 hour jamez techinicle support, and I have to call him.

Hello,

Only 3 Competitors for SQ in the Hat, but in Calgary I had 15, Red Deer 11, Richmond was a sanctioned IASCA event with 8 SQ guys...SQ is coming back. Unfortunately the turn in the Hat wasn't great but it is start. Spl is still king because with a box and an amp you can compete. SQ is little more involved, but wait until F/X and the Camrose show, and then final, in Calgary. International Stero had 18 competitors in SQ in Edmonton, we just have to build the awareness of SQ events. In the past there has only been 2 IASCA events in Western Canada, this year we have 8...hold them and they will come!

at these shows, SQ GUYS, go get all the guys that love thier spl, and know their systems well, ask to listen yourself(not hurting htose sq ears of yours of course) and then offer to let them listen to your system.

now, after hearing many very beautiful sq cars, i have decided to go spl/sq. cept the gain on my amps will be a little higher, and bass will be hitting a little harder, but defiently better than what i used to consider "quality"

sure your hitting 150, but come on, all of our ears start to hurt after enjoying our "babies" go listen to what 300 watts @ 4 ohms can do. but dont give up on spl.. maybe youll like it, maybe not.. doesnt hurt to try
