yuli has a point ... with this show being one of the first of the year (and some still got their cars in storage) this is what i got as feedback from posts and talks :
- all were trying to get ready in time but wanted to wait so they can be sure and then register (but were planning on going)
- cars are in storage and can come out in time (or not) and wanting to wait and not lose their money
- don't have CC and rather pay at the door (you never know what to expect in life)

this is roughly what i got ... and for the most points i agree

look i pre registered but there are big chances that i might not even have gear to go ... i'm ok with that but most people wouldn't be ...

we all try and support the shows and i know everyone was preping for this show ...

anyhow it's just sad to go for something and get everyone hyped about it and then cancel out.

naw man, the show is still a month away, some of us dont have credit cards for pre reg, some ppl just plain procrastinate. Saying competitors dont care about a competition thats a month away isnt right. Importfest gave up on it and thats what happened. Honestly what other show besides world finals, requires ppl to pre register a month in advance? I cant think of 1 show that requires that. I know your pissed dude, but its got more to do with the organizers of importfest tossing the db drag aside before their pre reg date had passed. If they really wanted it to work they'd prolong reg instead of cancelling it a week early. As for wanting to hear reasons for not registering, heres mine, I cant be there for eliminations due to my daughters dance recitle held on sunday at 2:30 pm. I dont have a team, so no one can run my car for me. Im sorry but i cant lose that much money to put down a qualifying score then miss the eliminations, AND lose my car for the entire weekend. It sucks, but theres nothing some of us can do.

let me first start off by refering to what you said Don..

whats really the case is that no one on here cared about the event.
who on here can say that they registered?
lets get a list..or better yet lets hear the reasoning for people having not registered..
I'd like to hear them
Reason I haven't registered?

As Yaniv said, I'm not sure my car will be out of storage in time. My car is stored in a garage with about 50 other classic/muscle cars. Because of this it takes a schedule in order to be able to get everything out. (mine is near the back of the garage so I have to wait for others to get their cars out first)

If they decide to hold off for an extra week or two because of weather then I'm at their mercy.

Having said that... it doesn't make sense for me to pre-reg if I'm not even sure that I'll have a vehicle.

In all honesty, these car show people just don't get car audio people. As a general rule we don't register in advance. They have a system set up where people MUST pre-reg for every show. We just don't do that. The idea is foreign to us.

It's a bit of a disappointment that the show won't happen because I was planning on attending either way (even if only to watch and see friends) but their over-reaction and lack of understanding for clientele has destroyed what could have been an awesome event.

Did you just call your car a classic/muscle car?
