Question

I am located in Vancouver and am looking for input, or a great shop here to upgrade my stock deck in my new car which should be arriving in about 2 weeks.

I have received some recommendations on going with a Focal 5" woofer mounted in the rear wagon wall, in a space used in the premium sound option (not available in Canada) to fill in the missing base.

I am pretty sure that the Wagon currently has 6 1/2" separates in the front and 5 1/4 coax. in the rear doors.

The Subaru upgrade option here is a Sub mounted under the drivers seat, $600.

I think that I would be better off spending this $ elsewhere... thoughts.

BTW there is no possibility of changing the head unit yet, as the DIN is once piece and there is not an after market option yet, so I am just looking at an amp/speaker combination.

$$ is definately important as I don't want to spend $2000 or even close.

get a nice head unit, some nice components up front and like a nice 10" in a small sealed box in the back and a decently sized lil 4channel amp to run it all. who cares about rear speakers how often are you gonna be in the back seat i gave them up and havnt regreted it one bit. but if you get some nice components and a lil sub to fill in whats missing you should be pretty happy. avi stuff doesnt need very much space to function .5cuft sealed for the sls-250 www.avisound.com or check out speaker city they are in van and they do installs and sell avi. theres a link for thier website in the avi site.
