Well, all i can say is ****PIT has got to be the worst shop out there.
The guys who even built my motor for my race car thinks theyre over priced and crooked. I learned the hard way when an alpine went into the caddy and i was charged $280 for labor (no parts).

So, what other shops are out there?
Im looking to have a sub enclosure made out of vinyl and or carpet, mdf construction and possibley to custom kick panels.

Got any advice?
Audio Illusion in oakville seems good, but hes impossible to sit down and get anything done with.

R.

PS. local to Mississauga is a must!
I also want to be able to view the install as it happens.

20hz audio
weston/pine valley and hwy 7
www.20hzaudio.com

Perfect Tones in Milton
www.perfect-tones.com

Phantom Car Audio
Dundas west of Dixie on the south side...
dunno their website..

Those are three 'independent' shops that get pretty regularly excellent reviews around the West End of toronto...
There are also a BUNCH of DIY guys on here that are usually willing to help, and do excellent work, for less than shops would charge, and they mmay be more open to letting you watch, etc....

hope that helps...

Thanks, checking out those sites now.

i only request to watch due to my experience with Car Stereo Warehouse (before it became crappit).
I managed walking out of there having to repaint my front quarter panels.
I spent $4500 on the install alone, materials etc etc, not including equipment. The install was clean, i credit the installers for that, but i just dont trust some of these installers these days after that incident.

If someone local was doing it out of their garage, i would actually show preference to using them if they can supply some references for their work.

Hey man I am one of the owners of Perfect tones and we almost always show our customers what were doing as we do it as most of them hang out.

Search Perfect tones on here you'll find a few nice reviews from forum members

Oh and our prices kick ***!

I still say if you can, do it your self. If that's not your bag I can understand. Every car I build is WITH the owners of the car. I will do as much pre-work (basics)as I can but most of the car owners seem to enjoy learning how to build this stuff for them selfs.

Thats true.
I just wish I had the TIME to do it, and I know a lot of people are in the same boat..

Sometimes it's just really easier to pay someone to do it, rather than budget your time so succinctly.

I have 'shopped' at all three of the places I mentioned, at PT and 20hz for custom install stuff, and at Phantom just for equipment.
All the guys at the shops mentioned are cool, and fairly easy-going in terms of handling customers...IE- let you watch, etc...
I would recommend them, for custom stuff, over most of the other shops in the Toronto area
