Lindsay, Ontario, Ah. Hmmm, man I'd love to at least show up and check out the comp. I've had systems for 15 years and never competed.
My van has a fairly good SQ setup ... I have no idea what it puts out for SPL. It gets pretty loud but still clear.
I'm gonna try to plan on getting out there to meet you guys. Even if I don't compete this time, I'd like to see how things work. I'm in Windsor so it's a haul but well worth it. Any cost to spectators?
Hell, maybe I'll have to enter something just for the sake of finding out what my systems really is capable of. It's on Sunday, April 26th, right? That still gives me some time to get everything back in. I just ripped everything out last weekend, gave the enclosure a new paint job and got it back in last night. Should have some sound out of it today? Still have lighting, amp covers and stuff left to do.
I looked at the Bass Race rules that everyone was pasting for others to understand and I'm still not understanding the concept completely. Is it the first to hit and stay at 129.9, 139.9? Then again, as someone said in a previous thread, "you guys can take my money", it'll be worth the experience.
I'll update in a couple days to see if I'm comp. ready .... Yea, who am I joking ... comp ready .... not even close, BUT CAN'T WAIT!!
Anyone have tips for this NEWBIE?? I wouldn't mind trying SQ and Bassrace. My system was completely built by me, but it looks pretty good. There is no fiberglass panels or nothing, but you can't see any wires or screws.
Thanks guys,
My name is Paul a.k.a Guam!

Could someone please link me the contest info, rules, etc. for SQI and Bass Race. What are they judging in SQI? What do I need to do for Bass Race? Find a tune that I can hit say 129.9 as fast as possible and stay there? Does someone have a meter that will help me out before the comp so I know if I'm on the right track. I see that some of you guys even bought your own Term Lab meters?? I don't even know if I can hit 129.9 or 139.9. I'd like to think it will.... 129.9 ... that's not that loud ....
Thanks again,
Guam
