Coming from a rural back ground I can tell you they will bus your children to the closest High school I took a 45 min bus ride every day to school and then back home.
I'm sorry that things are not so good right now but domestic "disturbances" is something even police officers do not like to get involved in, they tend to be the ones suffering the bruises and cuts if they do and it can escalate very rapidly because were dealing with emotions here. Asking for a safe house is a bad idea, contact social services and have them do a check on the home or just do an old school tip to police about drug dealing from the home and you'll have the local coppers watch them very closely.. ( pay phone would be advised! )

take some deep breaths this won't get solved over night and if you go grab your kids you will have kid napping charges on you.. < no good for the little ones to see daddy in cuffs, and you can't help them from jail. Make your self-available. Buy your kids a cell phone and tell them to hide it and use it if they need it( send them 10 bucks a week so they can use a pay phone if they need to as well, so when mommy takes the phone away they have other means to get you. Tell them to call social services or the police as well if needed( THAT WILL GET ATTENTION)

Be aware that your children miss you and may make things seem worse then they are also, kids will play both sides if they are not getting the love or attention they need. They don’t know any better and could get you in trouble with out knowing the consequences.

Thanks for the input but I do know the risks and benifits of this and I won't go off the deep end as so many would. I just keep doing what I can and take it from there.
