Shawn im actually not pissed at where i finished thats not it at all. What I am pissed at is the disorganization that went on by IASCA itself. Had it not been for Moe and Jeff getting things organized on the spl side it could have been as bad as it was on the SQ side. As I stated before you guys were looking for that 1 compititor for 2 days straight. Now I lay blame for wasting all the judges time looking for him solely on the IASCA top staff of not informing you properly that he did NOT pick up his package. Also as you know the RTA unit you were using was fair for all compititors in the results it gave BUT my point is that I think the meter was flawed for EVERYONE. Now again I state that the meter was perfectly fair across the board and no one had any advantage. What im saying is that the meter was improperly tweaked (IMHO). As well as the banquet which I wont even go into again as it was a total screwup. Moe I know you would have gone to bat but that again would have left others that didnt get seats which would have been wrong.

And for the door thing im not worried, things happen and I find it quite funny. BTW new nickname is "KEYS"er Soze

Im just pointing out what I feel was wrong with how finals was handled. I would return to IASCA but from what I have heard this seems to be an ongoing thing of poor organization at finals.

What I would suggest though is that they keep the idea of timed SQ runs(that was excellent) but also add in the times for install judging and SPL judging(mic not being locked in cars aside)

MDXman, I understand your concerns and you brought up some very valid points. There have been a lot of changes with IASCA in the last two to three years and with this being the first unified Finals, it was a learning curve for both organizations. Each respective org had their responsibilities to deal with in organizing the Finals, it wasn't solely IASCA's responsibility to put the show together and for MECA to just show up and run their Finals, we each shared in the organization of the event.

Both Steve and Paul worked very hard to set it up and tried to foresee every eventuality, but, and I'm not trying to make excuses for anyone, some items on the agenda slipped through the cracks. It was a learning curve for both orgs, and I think both IASCA and MECA did the best they could. I believe that for next years Finals, we will have learned from our mistakes and will work diligently to make certain those mistakes are not repeated.

There are a lot of improvements on the way for 2005 and I truly believe they are for the betterment of both orgs as well as for the competitors. Although I can't go into any detail at this point, I think that all competitors, SQ and SPL, will be pleasantly surprised at what's in store for next season.

I hope to see you all in the lanes in the 2005 season, and until then, all the best in the "rebuilding" season!

I'm sure that with the affiliation that IASCA has with audio control that all the meters and mics were calibrated before finals. Your results were a little different with the meter you were using but everyone was judged on the same meter. That aside the install judges should have been right behind the sound quality judges. But with the rookies having two sound judges left them with having to wait until all rookies were judged for sound. This also was a factor for me doing rta and spl as some competitors were waiting to be judged by meca for sound. You know that all competitors were given the option for us to return after sound and install. In the long run I think all was run on a level playing field. My only disappointment was that they did not have the averaged scores from two sound judges in my rookie season. I really hope they continue to use this format in the future.Oh and by the way the "keys"er soze name tag fits perfectly and was funny as he11

Thanks Yuli, myself, Jeff and the rest of the gang tried our best to make it as smooth as possible. We ahd a couple of minor curveballs, but for the most part I have to say that everything went quite well.

Wait until next season!
