I will never, EVER pay $400 for a wooden box even when I'm rich, lol. Thats just me though.

I asked on another forum (where people actually answered my question) and a few of them referred me to an ebay store that sells custom made boxes for $100+$75 shipping made to my specs. A few of them have used him so I know it aint crap. If I cant find somebody locally I'll go with him.

anyways this thread was asking if you guys knew anybody that did it for cheap, I have already found people that do it for $300+.

The trick with HD is to tell them to make the saw cut only in horizontal and use a new measuring tape!

and of course depends on what kind of build you want on the box..if you want it bare mdf itll be cheaper than fully carpeted or fully glasses, sanded, painted wetsanded etc

once you go with a good custom box tho, you'll never go back. However with the same idea, if you get a crappy box you'll lose all faith and go back to prefabs

Looks dont matter to me when it comes to boxes. I just want it carpeted no extra stuff.

We are not talking about looks. How the woofer performs in that box should be your focus. $300 is you budget, fine. Let's say you get your box from your source and it works well but it lacks sheer impact and the port breaks loose from little to no glue. Now what? If you would of gone to see a local shop you now have ammo to get them to redo the box.

lol how often do boxes break? I have a bassworx box from 4 years ago which is in great condition... its still together, lol

If the box is as quality as user name "thumpper"s on here than it's worth $350, but I think he only charged around $300.

Thumper made some awesome boxes but didn't charge enough and is now out of business.
