i know that well be at krazy eddies and then just keep going to Calgary. so this could very easliy be a possiblity. should this happen, i will have about a million, maybe a million and a half questions for you westec. well ok i'll keep it to a minimal. but once i had learned the db rules i went thru a series of questions that made wayne harris nuts. hahaha. can't wait , we were in plans to go this year to finals to watch Moe. but we would love to be able to fix up the car and drive there. we have a busy summer/fall/winter to paln. heck we have a busy month in order to get ready for these two shows. we may have to go crazy on the car and put in plexi and just a touch of concrete. well see.

Question

Now let me get this straight...

I have placed in 2 IASCA events now...

If I attend the event on Aug.24 and place and get a membership in IASCA(whens the membership due anyway???),I stand a chance of being invited to worlds...is this right?

Or do I have to place in the world?

I might have misunderstood something...sorry if I did...

Let me know asap...I am considering going for it if that all thats involved....and please let me know when membership is due...

Thanks much!!

Keep on Thumpin'!!

Ouch - duuude that is SO the best way to discourage membership. IASCA got killed in the early 90s because too many would be new competitors thought JUST that.

New competitors can still have a great time and be competitive while they learn how to better their systems.
</font>
So maybe I should go! I won't go down there thinking I'm going to place anywhere near the top, but no one ever wins their first time at worlds. You obviously need the experience. You could learn so much in one weekend. That's one thing Mike had on me. Besides, if I'm going to go I might as well drive and see how my car does up against those guys with finals judges. Let's be honest, that is my idea of a dream weekend. Being surrounded by SQ systems that only get more insane then mine.

Cool

for my 2 cents worth. the one and only way you will ever know where you stand if is if you get out there. the show aug 24 will be a great measuring stick for you guys, and know matter who you might be worried about at worlds beating you, the only way to find out is to be there. there are a lot of quality systems that i have seen this year that i know can place at the worlds. remember guys every show, every mic, everytime you go out, it is going to be slightly different, but all the competitors have the same setup to deal with. rule of thumb is, if you consistently place top three every comp. you should stil place in the top of your class.....even at worlds. lets face it guys, i would take top ten at worlds and smile for six months!!!!!!!!
