The show overall was great..awesome..fantastic.We had a awesome turn and unlike the triple pointer, nearly everyone that said they were come, made it.It was great to meet alot of people for the first time and meet up with people who I and many other Calgary CCA members had never met.My appologies to those people I didnt get a chance to meet up with or get introduced to...But I guess it happens.

The SPL show was excellent!Alot of close calls, alot of upsets, and even one DQ to what would have been the winner of a heat, except he removed his head gear before the clock ran out..bummer.But on an oppisite note to that, congarats has to go out to Rick Charles(Ricktc)for taking his very first 1st place win in Street B.Rick has worked damn hard this season to get this far.Good going Rick!!

There were also a few suprises from people as well.Rob V.O. showed up with his new(er) 1988 Dodge Colt Turbo as the brown colt is being sent out to pasture after an accident in Revelstoke. But Rob need to work on this car as his SPL dropped tremendously from the old car. There's always next show Rob.Team 8 Track(me)showed up not to run in Street A,but in Supper Street 3-4.With alot of help from Rob and Andy(A-Rok(Thanks so much guys)I showed up with a wall with 3 cubes,4 Pioneer Premier SVC's,2 CrossFire BMF 1000D's strapped, and 3 1300 CCA CAT/RV/Marine batteries(the ones that take two people to lift).I took third place with a 147.3 with Rob cracking my windsheild more than it was to start.Oh well.My deepest appologies to Sony Civic....How did your taste after I fed it to you?JK..Was all in good fun.
This was also the very last show for "Team 8 Track".I went to do a qualifing run using a sweep, but when I hit the unpause switch, nothing happend even thought everything was in perfect order.I was fortunate enough to get a second chance to qualify(thanks Ray)using CD.So during the course of the event,I removed the 8 track from the car.Its done.

The PowerWheels SPL was alot better than I had expected. Some of the workmanship was awesome.Congrats to all the winners.I'm actually thinking about maybe trying to build one for next year..We'll see..

Thanks goes out to Visions for putting this show on and doing much better than last year. But as a note of creative critisim there were a number of people very unhappy with the way things were done.

They had one a meger small guitar amp as a PA,which most times was blocked by cars in the lane so people across the lot couldnt hear anything. And to add insult to injury, some 100-200 ft(guessing) away from the judges stand was a tour bus with some 16 12" woofers.and a little sprint with a wack of subs, both going all day long drowning out the PA system.About the only place you could really hear anything was to be standing up at the lanes the whole time.

The gentlemen who was juding the event seemed to come across with attiude that if things were done EXCATLY as he want,he would shut things down.(I heard this remark from several people). There was no giving us info about the SPLer as to what his qualifing number was or anything.During a run all that wae got was "GO"...."10 seconds"..."and STOP".It seemed kind of boring.

By personal biggest complaint over this show was the awards presentation.

They made up a NOVICE class for those that didnt qualify in the top 8 so that they could keep going.Thats great. They were mentioned at the presentation.

SQ had trophies for top 3.Awesome!(good job James)

SPL...Novice was mentioned then from there, unless you were first or second,NOTHING!Not even a mention that "Team SO and So..Third place"...Thats a Jip!!!Not only because I took third, but also because I know how hard some these people had to work to get that far.Next time if nothing else, make mention of them. They'll appresiate it alot!!

Anyway, enough of my ranting...If anyone else has remarks about the show, please feel free to post them...

I hit a 133.0, with just my one front battery, my rear one disconnected. That's about a 2.5dB drop from last time, when I had my rear battery connected.

They stuck me in Street A, as there was no Street Max being run at that event. I took eighth place.

It was cool... Hope I find the time to build a new box this week before the show at NAIT on Sunday...
