I don't really see how it's FAIR for someone like me who's NEVER participated in a Bass Race but ...

Yeah, I'm in if this goes down. Take my money.

Im thinkinng we wont be forcing everyone to do it. I think it will be by chohice. If you dont wanna spend the $5 you can still do bass race, just wont have a chance at winning the pot.

it's a good idea to enter however. I did this last season at the last show (CSPL Finals) and the pot was something like $55. But the dude that ended up winning bass race chose not to enter the pot so he missed out on the extra $55. I think he was the only one who did not enter actually, I bet he felt some what like an idiot when he has the second place guy get all the money.

Yuli, Where will this Bass Race for cash that your talking about be held. I've never competed with any of my systems before but I'm hoping to attend the Lindsay comp on April 26th. As DaVibe said they can "take my money" It'll be worth the experience.

I'm thinking about trying SQI and Bass Race. I just have no idea what I'm doing. I should likely just attend a show before actually competing, but I'd hate to drive all the way there from Windsor just to watch.

Any advice for this NEWBIE?? I've never even had my system tested with a meter... I have no idea what it would post. How can I enter something when I have no idea what its capable of??

Thanks guys,
My name is Paul a.k.a. Guam!

Cool, so what do I do? Play any song and get it to 129.9 before my opponent? The game is still a little fuzzy to me .... I have no idea where to even start other than showing up! I was your "nod" post, must be nice to already know what song at what level to achieve your bd's...

complete rules and description of how its done are here dBDRA Rules - Master Index

you dont need to get to 129.9 before your opponent. you just need to END your run AT 129.9 or as close as possible without posting 130 or more.

when qualifying, you may go over 130 durring the run, but unless you want to qualify for the 139.9, you should try to end the qualifying run at 129.9 or lower.

in elimination rounds, however, if you happen to go over 130 at any point in time you are out automatically.

Durring Bass Race, your average SPL over 30 seconds is taken. It is very different from just your peak SPL. You want to use a song with a very consistant bass line to keep your average steady and allow yourself more control.

Db Drag portion is done completelly different. There your maximum SPL is taken and there is no limit on how loud you can go.
