this has been somewhat of a hot topic....... so i do think there are people out there who are interested in sq. not just spl! Hey im not saying that spl isnt fun. But to me it does get kinda old fast for me and the other thing is i love to show the fit and finnish of compleated systems and all that time spent on detale. I duno just a bit frustrated at the situation....... anyhoo
thats my 2 cents

Lightbulb

You have a bit of the chicken and the egg going on right now. There's no competitors cuz there's no shows. There's no shows cuz there's no competitors.

If you have the desire and can see a show as a marketing medium rather than a profit generator then do a few and see how interest picks up. It may take a couple of summers to really get it going but it will.

Couple your SQ show to an SPL show or a traditional car show to increase exposure.

Make friendly with a couple of other shops in the area. Convince them to host just one show each. This way you can get a circuit of shows going and even think about a nice local "finals" at the end of the summer. People like to work towards something rather than just pissing $20-$30 to the wind.

The only limit is yours.

Niether of my vehicals are boring. And all seem to fall apart on there own! My SQ openened many doors including SPL. Hate to say this but SQ in my first love. Yet the bass realy kept me there. In SQ the spectator is mostly left out. Yet in SPL it's instantanious. Mmm what to do. Oh ya I do both!

I perfer SQ.

SPL is fun, for about 5 minutes, then its the same old.

I will agree that SQ leaves the spectator out, but the remedy was already suggested above... bring on the bikini contest!!

Mini Steve, if you are willing to listen and critique a system some time, consider me in, because I feel like Ive got a tin ear somedays.

^^ Any time guys.^^ Send me a note at sfbeam@telusplanet.net and we can get together. My neighbours are ok with my obsession so my place is as good as any. They even put up with my spl testing so ya let get together, I'll even dig up my old score sheets to give referance to. I'd take James up on his offer. He's the man I'd go to for SQ basicaly my mentor in SQ!
