I'm sorry, can you clarify if that was directed towards me?

If it was, I wasn't aware that being in extreme and having a sponsorship allows you to make your own rules.

And since your competing in these local events, I would be under the impression that there are a set of rules that are to be abidded by.

Now, I'm curious if in these competitions you are allowed to exceed the doorjambs with your subwoofer, enclosure, or any other equipment.

Just a question, I'd prefer a staright forward yes/no answer.

and yes there are restrictions on how far they do go forward but i am within rules.
now i used these rules only because i am familiar with them. however i do not know if they are iasca, usaci,slap, meca,etc, approved.
but i tried to guide my self by db rules

There are many more modifications left to be made, but that's next years project.
Speakers that go beyond the door jambs are not allowed in super street and street, and i aimagine mini street. but alls a go for extreme. i can only be extreme because sponsorship is involved. even though i have not fully reinforced any thing yet in front of the door jambs. only recovered with a wood on top, but nothin inside the door, or floor or behinfd the dash. , still have original center console

I was curious as to what rules you wer eusing as a guideline.

I also use the dB Drag rules, as you had posted.

One note I'd like to point out to you (to avoid future confusion) is the following rule:

6-2 All loudspeaker enclosures, and / or baffle boards, with the exception of those mounted in the kick-panels or doors, shall be located behind an imaginary plane that stretches from the trailing edge of the driver’s door to the trailing edge of the passenger door.



Additional Guidelines:



· Compliance with this rule may be verified by using the following test: Two judges position themselves on opposite sides of the vehicle. A string (or wire) is passed through the open doors of the vehicle. Both judges pull the string so that it is taught. Next, the judges move the string in unison so that the string slides along the trailing edge of each judge’s respective doorjamb. If the string does not touch the enclosure (or loudspeakers), then the test passes.

· Any components that are attached to the loudspeaker enclosure, including speakers, amplifiers, signal processors, etc., are considered to be a part of the loudspeaker enclosure.

This rule applies to all classes, and nowhere in the rulebook does it state that it only applies to street and superstreet.

You may want to re-read that section and make the appropriate changes. Not that I'll rat you out in a competition, but you may want to be aware of that in case a judge points it out to you.

 

your absolutely right, hey you learn something new everyday. but if you look carefully at that photo the whole box(when the speakers are inside the box) fit's behind the door jambs. but as you see they aren't and that's because at my first two competitions, were no such rules. so they came out into the position you see. basically you have to adjust to the competition that your in. same as i can take my seats out in db drag, but at my first two comps, i have to leave them in. it's all about accomodating to the competition. But it's good that you noticed that. you should be a judge, great power of observation. keen sense of right and wrong.

forgot my screwdrivers at home, hahahahaha. that's the funniest thing i've heard all weekend. we usually don't bring any tools. should we go down in a show, we go down. we hardly ever bring tools. all we carry is plenty of rags for wiping down the car, and some kind of cleaner and polish for the paint. i don't like to start taking things apart at a show; looks ugly when people start taking things apart at a show). mind you it's not like were at finals or something. forgot my screw drivers, you crack me up. there was some dude with 2 - 15's in a center console, both facing towards the passenger seat(some big truck) and of course the mic is placed on the seat, so you can imagine the people that guy pissed off. i thought that it was well thought out. he still only hit in the 140s but it wasn't in the 130s. and i think he may have taken an award(i think), oh well
