Spl
I'm looking at SPL...back home (Trinidad) we had "crowd pleasers" which means the crowd decides right..they both play their music in turn ( 1 minute each....3 rounds)...and the crowd decides..by making alot of noise for the winner..i haven't heard of that in Canada...so i'm looking at SPL.....

u wont see that in canada, most spl systems are not even set up to play music period. lol im damn sure no one is gonna be ready to burn their $5000 + set up just to see a crowd clap, i kno i wouldnt.
i think what u are lookin for is 'bass race' where u play your music and your spl is avereged out on the meter.
shows should start popin up come March

competition?
thats true..i'm looking forward to the competitions here...what am i up against ..like what kinda power was in the outlaw competition last year.. 6000+ watts rms..? i'm just trying to figure out how loud i need to go...

there is no outlaw in Toronto or even canada really. it's all legal on dash
and yes you would need something like 3k rms of real power to come close to any trophies. (i got just over 6k and im the smallest class) but power is not even half of it. there are a few other things that you can buy or know how to make that can make u loud instead of getting a big amp, but that ofcourse depends on how dedicated u are and how bad u want to win.

not sure what u mean by sounds like crap? its not about the sound at all. the system is playing for like 3 seconds tops just enough to get the meter to read the pressure..........when i daily drive i dont use all the amp power, like 1k rms is way more than enough. my competition amps stay in my closet untill the day of competition.
