I dont mean to hijack this thread but what do you think about a newbie like me wanting to take the Judges course?
Should I wait to get more "seat time" in cars, or should I just go ahead and take the course if/when it is available?
I want to learn as much as possible about judging/critiquing audio systems.

Are you interested if there is SQ at the Redline show June 22, 2012.

Yes, a few of us are willing to come if there is an SQ component.
It was USAC only right? No IASCA?

I was at a 3x event last summer that had both.

For sure take it. It won't teach you how to tune or how to listen but it does explain some critical basic elements very well and if you know how to judge a car it will help you build your car so it can be judged.

Thanks Paul,
I'll talk to Keith about when the next training session is taking place.
Taking the judges course doesn't affect your ability to compete (as an amateur) does it?

It shouldn't. Amature/Pro is all based on your access to gear at less than retail levels. Sort of pointless these days but they have to base it on something.
