huh...well I just started there just over a week ago. I can't see it taking that long and costing that much for an amp install and a pair of speakers.

I can, it is called giving the customer the option of doing a thorough job or just what is needed. If you do the thorough job, you are running new speaker lines direct to the speakers. Add $ for more wire and more time. If you want to ensure that the ground is good, chances are in a unibody vehicle that it is off the battery you go, add more $ for wire and time. Do you want the amp under the seat screwed through the floorboards, no, add more $ and time. Can a amp install get that expensive, you bet it can. It depends on the level of the install the customer is after. When you got that quote that you thought might have been way high, perhaps it was also a level of install that you were not expecting. Granted a basic amp install might be $60.00 labour + wiring, you get what you pay for. Now you are in the market for some custom work, give the custom guys the chance to properly do an estimate for you and understand what it is they are doing. If it is something different than what you want then ask them to start from scratch again. NSAV has done some fine work over the years, you are in the market for custom work and they can make this happen for you. Is it going to be cheap, nope. Right back to you get what you pay for.

Do you have pic of your install?

I believe the standard rate is 1.5 hr for trunk or under seat amp install & 1 hr for speakers. unless its a real difficult car....... then it'll be more for sure.
