I'll admit, Bass Race definitely sounds more like my kind of contest after reading the rules in that link posted.

I definitely don't have a system loud enough or designed to be a one note wonder to compete in a drag with you dB guys.

As nice as the trophies may be, I think $45 is a little much for people like me who aren't expecting to win anything and don't do this kind of thing for a living.

What exactly does the entry fee money go towards anyways other than the throphies?

80% of it goes to the judge, 20% for the trophies.

reason the judge is so expensive is b/c we do not have any locally that were certified to do multi point events such as this one (where canadian records can be set). getting a judge from the states to come down is not exactly cheap.

i really wish there was a way to make it cheaper or even free, but the car audio industry in canada is not at a level where big corporate sponsors would be willing to step in and help out. sad if you ask me but that's what it is.

i know 45 bux is not cheap, trust me. last multi point event that took place in July was $60 to enter plus $100 for hotel (2 day show in Niagra Falls), so $160 plus gas and food. there were about 25 to 30 spl and bass race competitors.

The event on August 19 is $45 and its local to all Toronto people, no need to drive for 2 hours each way. Trust me, I've tried to set up the show so it's cheaper and less time consuming for everyone involved. Maybe next season we'll have a free multi point event.

What is the difference between multi and single point events?
Do you guys earn points for the season for placing, or what exactly?

I can understand the need for an official judge in the dB drag where people want their scores recorded and made official in the record books for bragging rights, but do you really need one of those judges for the Bass Race for example?

I mean splitting up the two contest entry fees like $40 for db drag only, and $10 for Bass Race only, or $45 for both.
I don't expect anything in this world to be free, especially if someone else's meter and equipment is involved.

at multi point events you can set records.

bass race wasnt event in the picture, db drag alone was $45. so bass race is in a way a free bonus. the price could be a tad lower but then trophies would be crap.
