A wave mod is a device you put over the cone of the sub. It's used in sealed applications to sort of simulate the effect of porting a box (w/o actually doing so).
i dunno how well they work, but some ppl say they're pretty good.

NONO, JohnnyToronto, u are right, it is like a grill or u call it cone,
i tested it out with the seal box and it does sounds like a ported box

highly recommand this WAVE MOD thingy

How does it sound, have u tested it with, without it? Did you notice an audible difference in the output?

i would say that the device is made to make the driver sound like its in a proper sealed box when its in a freeair application
i do beleive you could also enter the driver parameters so it worked properly
i think it was a speakerworks device and i don't think it's been avalable for 10-15 years now

make a sealed box sound like its ported hows that work
