shouldnt be a conflict as to whos show it is , everyone should be happy that we have a western regional event , and a shop that puts on huge amounts of shows each year, James has been nothing but good to me over the years he did the first show i ever attended and got me into spl he goes all over british columbia and alberta doing shows , he came to the island and did shows were no one else would , and for that he has my respect , dons a great guy , and has a done alot in the industry as well , I dont see why everyone cant just get together and do one huge event, the more supporters we have the better show its going to be

exactly, James has done loads for the 12 volt industry period here in the West. His knowledge as a competitor of SPL and SQ is outstanding, let alone the tech support he does for Automobility along with his other services as a rep. we are privileged to have a guy like this ...................period.

There is more going on behind the scenes then you guys understand.

2008 I competed at Finals, and offered to not judge but they did not have enough judges...so I did it for the sport (and Wayne asked me too)

Triple point certification, if you are an international judge you are not expected to attend finals for re-certification (as per Wayne)

So if Ray Choy wanted to judge he could not? He hasn't been to finals since I went.

Also, my wife was 8 months pregant, so I didn't go...

I like Don, have no issues, but he is 1600-1800 kms away, they asked me to do the show etc, because I am local. I was waiting for confirmation he was coming, then I was going to get him involved with pre-check etc, for the regionals (but Wayne is on holidays so I cannot confirm)

Like I stated eariler, there is more going on then is being stated here, I will discuss if someone wants to call me, but I will not discuss on an open public forum.

1-877-4-westec ask for James, Don if u can, please give me a call, I do not have your number.

We hold these event with great dealers, who go through a huge amount of time and money for the COMPETITORS and the industry. Complaining like this has no value what so ever. Think about this, may dealers with stop holding events like this because of useless drama. Why complain on a public forum? Why not talk to the people involved? Talk, instead of offering uninformed statements?

That all being said, the dealer is getting "CNC" machined medals custom made - roughly 6 inches round. The last total I saw was $2500+ in swag. And a head count of 78 cars so far. This is shaping up to be a great show, as in the past.

Yup I agree, Daves shows are regarded as THE best and we cannot lose that. I am far far away so that is Waynes reasoning probably. I got no problems with James doing shows as long as it don't stop me from doing my regional finals.

BC is just a different region anyway and any loss of shows is bad. Waynes out of the office till the 7th and I will call then. So its pointless discussing anything without speaking to him first.

My Western Regionals is still under discussions(almost set!) I can offer that at least the MB guys can come to finals too. So you best not miss Andre's Aug 22nd show! If I go I want to meet all of you guys so show up!

And even though I want to go to watch and mingle its not like I won't help Judge cars because I am not like that, I would offer my help anyway possible if given the chance. I just would not be the main guy with all the pressure to make it run smooth :P I would probably kick back after inspections and be pit crew for who ever needs help.

Lets not forget why we attend and hold shows for the family/friends and there is room for all of us. Forgot to ask if there was a beer garden?

to juggle a home, a family, be a certified world judge, AND be a competitor, ONTOP of a regular work week is a HUGE feat and I wish more people would try it to see how difficult it actually is. As a competitor, I went to that event, and found NO conflict of interest, as there were 6 other judges to judge james car. his car was more legal than the street max suv from cali with the re-welded floor and duct tape 2 x 2 console that was apparantly factory appearing....(not). Not to mention his car didn't even make it to nationals. let alone worlds. AND it was the olnly car in it's class at that event. Conflicting??? I think not.
