so i competed a decent amount the past season in an 02 ford escape.. hit usually anywhere at the end of the season from 147-148 in street b... which isnt bad but not that great and thats with 5k watts... so i figure i could get another 5k watt amp and work on my box since im still using a regular slot ported box and i should end up around 150.. but even that isnt a very good score.. so im thinkin if i wanna get loud im gonna have to have a different vehicle for it.. cheapest and easiest option is obviously a crx..

so i'm thinkin do i continue with the hobby and get a crx for next season or just keep goin with my escape and be quieter or do i scrap it all together and put monies towards something smart like buying a second house or maybe a second car that i can build up and use for street/strip (use to do that with a mustang)

 

u can get 150 without the extra 5K I figure.

lol ya maybe.. i had a buddy build an spl box for me.. and my score dropped even with a bit of tuning.. im not saying it isnt possible but i am saying that for the effort it would take me to get it to do 150 i would rather go spend $500-2g on a rex and throw my in there and have way more potential..

and wasting the money on booze, and rec drugs is a given... for the hookers and strippers.. come on.. you've seen me.. i'm way too pretty to need to pay for it

 

Lol, that's funny. What type of spl box was built for you, got any pics? Maybe we can help get you louder with that rig after all. I have looked at those vehicles when we had them in the shop and they looked like they had some potential to get pretty loud.
BTW, what gear are you running? Batt, amps, subs?

 

I attached an image of the box.. in the pic that wasnt how it was loudest.. it was loudest with the ports outside of the box but i tried everything.. with the box in its loudest position it was still 1.5db's quieter than my slot port.. image of the slot port also attached..

ya i have already tested a ton with what i have.. and sure he got decent numbers but the explorer and the escape are quite different inside... plus my passenger seat doesnt even barely go forward.. thats a huge hinder for the score right there.. and regarding the amps i cant understand what you are saying.. must be early drinking for new years

LOL I just re read it, it made sense.
If you stay in St B you can only have 1battery you arent gonna power 2 500.1 to full extent with 1 battery. I dunno would u gain the near 3db needed by adding one more?
