I am one of those people who had an suv and tried to get it loud for 3 years and then finally got a rex.

So let me tell you this, if you havent broken 150 in your suv, dont go buy a crx, it will be a HUGE waste for you. Im not cuttng you up, but obviously you have many more things to learn. CRX doesnt mean instant loud, i bet you wont be more than db louder in a crx than your suv if you just transfer all the gear, and maybe make a better box.

get your suv to 152'ish and then consider a crx. otherwise you'd be doing 151 WITH a crx, which is pretty hurting.

my grand cherokee did 151 with a single 10 and one 3k amp. guess what my crx did when i put the same set up into it? lol 151 db exactly.

with 2 10's and two 3k amps my jeep did 152.5, with 2 10's and same pair of 3k amps my crx did 153.5 (which is kinda hurting for a crx considering a Yaris can do 154+). This was all in 2007.

Only after I've gotten my jeep to do over 153 with with a pair of 10's I actually fully switched to the crx. I can tell you that at the most, a crx is 2 db's louder than any mid size suv with the same gear, and thats ONLY if you know 110% what you are doing.

get the escape to do 151 with one amp and 152+ with 2 amps and then consider a crx.

so yuli and brian agree.. work on the escape a bit more.. well my weakness is obviously my box since it isnt even meant for spl.. but building a box for the escape will definitely not work in a rex since their frequencies will be off by about 10hz.. sure you would learn from it but at the same time i'd be better off putting research into a rex

oh yah u dont put the same box in an suv as you do in a crx, thats a given. a crx and your car wont have a 10hz peak differance. you can always retune the box too. you'd have to make a totally different box altogether.

my peak frequency is 47hz right now.. (47 and 49 are very close but 47 seems best) figured a rex would be more like 60

i know my peak is low but like i said, its cuz the box i am using right now is meant more for daily..

imp of the drivers is dual 1ohm

even with a high tuned box your vehicle peaked in the 45-48 hz range.

the rex i built peaked at 59-60 hz. Makes enclosure design much easier because you can get much more port area and still fit the port length within the vehicle.

you need to try another 10 boxes. by then you should know how to get your suv over 150 with one amp. I bet that car can do 151'ish with one 12 and two amps.
