I havent competed personally in quite a few years. From the little bit Ive been following atleast in Western Canada the sport is pretty dead. There are a few loud guys like Luke and Will beating everyone by 20db basically just competing locally to get enough points for finals. Dbdrag is completely dead from what Ive seen in the lower mainland and it seems to be all IASCA, which is a real shame bc IASCA has some funky rules for the daily driver type classes.
I still have my junk sitting half built with no gear at all lol.
And a perfectly good barebones explorer waiting which is the exact same as my last one just without a sunroof which should be good for a few tenths gain and a raise in the resonant frequency aswell.

I never really had any interest in SPL , more into finding ways to blurr my vision at 15hz with out shooting the cone out of the basket...LOL
it would be nice to have a couple comps to do demo's and check out other peoples stuff though

There seems to be more guys actually playing their setups and doing demos at shows now rather than guys being all sealed up so that people dont steal their designs and so they can keep all their gear cold and charged.
Its a much more interactive time for spectators, we just need more participation of guys building loud . Of course Im just as guilty as anyone as my build is nowhere near being done and I havent competed since 2008.

Yeah the demo type cars are getting much more popular now with youtube becoming such a big thing with hairtrick videos being everywhere. Its a much more eventful video to most people if you can float a hat in your window, then making a loud buzzing sound and a number popping up on the screen.

more people are getting smart and building systems that actually sound good and produce more than one note......
the days of spending massive cash on producing a one note wonder are starting to fade away
