Who's attending the May 9th in Surrey?
how about limiting the amount of electrical conductors to each woofer....like in db drag... so people like bidnyk can run but only if their quads' coils are conected in series or parallel
(a maximum of four electrical conductors are used) instead of all 8)

....okay, allow me to pull on my Kevlar vest so I won't get killed by the bullets this post will cause...
All classes/rules are applied directly from the Official DB Dragracing rules -- unfortunately it appears that Quad Coils can only be used in an extreme class and only if 4 conductors (ie 2 positive and 2 negative terminals are used) --
So.... Bidnyk if you come early and show me that you have woofer configured as a DVC, than I am willing to place you in Extreme Class. Also, I am sorry if this is a burden to you... I am looking forward to seeing you on the DB Dragracing circuit this year: someone with your obvious enthusiasm is an asset to any show.
All DB Dragraces in Western Canada that are performed this year will be following Official DB Dragracing rules and Classes as closely as possible. Please see my Post under SPL for further clarification.

well that seem like a odd way to rule out people
why not a calculated power to sub # so if your
quad sub is wired up at 1 ohm you got 1 amp running at 1 ohm that amp puts out 500 watts rms at 1 your in a class that puts you with other running 1 sub and say 250 - 750 watts
I know your not the guy that makes the rules
but just maybe you could pass a message along
that the number coils on a driver if used to wire the system better rather than to get more amps to one driver should be treated just like any other driver

Ok so basically, ive never seen a mic before. And im guna go into the lanes with my rinky dink car, stock everything, ****ty box, and go agaisnt guys who have damn concret in their walls 45 batteries 14 alts, 4 15's fiberlgass everything to the nuts and 60K watts of power!?
That ridiculous.
That ridiculous.
is this a db drag show u talking about?
Bidnyk if i was you i'd look at the rule book and see what class u are in.
Quad coils are allowed in Db Drag as long as they are wired in a way that they only have 4 conductor wires comming out of them (like a dual coil sub). Not sure if they are allowed or not in Street Class but im 100% sure u can use them in super street and extreme as long as they are wired in such manner.
So Mike, bydnyk shouldnt be in extreme, if anything he would be in super street No-Wall. or maybe even street max. I'd call Wayne and ask him about quads, how they are supposed to be wired (im sure down to 4 conductors) and what classes they are allowed to be used in (once again im sure super street can use them, maybe even street max)

I've read the rules over like 5 times and it doesn't mention anything about quads is SS. I just don't know if its different for Canada for some reason.
PS - You say something about wiring down to 4 conductors? I'm not sure what that means but this is how my sub is wired.
2 voice coils wired in paralle to 1 amp(1ohm load)
and the other 2 wired the same to my 2nd amp.
(2)Concept 1200's + (1)RE XXX18 quad 2ohm.
Does this qualify for what you're saying?
Thanx for the help
yah i think u are good to run super street 1-2 or maybe if the judges let u maybe even street max 1-2 where u should belong (in my opinion atleast) if this was my show i'd put u in street max. u got one sub and 2amp and a 'wall' i dont see why I would put u in extreme when it's clear u are not at any advantage by runing a quad coil sub. moreover, it is wired to act like a dual coil sub anyways.
at our 3x show in march Wayne OK'ed super street and no wall competitors who were runing quad coils that were wired to act as a dual coil sub. So i dont see why u'd have to go to extreme.
