some of us are stepping up to the plate at great loss and cost but with guys only supporting the shows that are less then an hour away from them this will never happen !!
i used to be optimistic about this but after seeing the type of support and turn out i just got ... i seriously doubt this is going to happen !

i know for the past 4 weekends strait, one of our guys had been no less then 6hrs from home just to attend 1x shows, for 3 of those i was right there with him, and this weekend we are doing it again. Every saturday evening we go to bed at around 8 or 9pm sleep until midnight or 1am then get up drive to the middle of no where compete all day then jump in the cars and drive back home, The dedication is there, he wants to go to worlds and in order to get the points for it this is what has to be done. Beyond just points we do it to help support everyone thats put on shows in BC and there are now plans in the works for us to possible go to alberta and i for sure will do atleast one sask show this summer. We have to drive everywhere and put out a ton of money in order to compete more then 4 times a year as it is. and well California is just closer then ontario.. so when it comes to WF california is easier ha

Exactly. given the choice, im going to the closer venue whether it's in canada or the us. unless the difference is just a couple hours.

lol no one cares about competing under the same flag. its all about competing at a place that requires less time and gas money to get to.

well if they did it canada... im sure we would do everything we could to make the canadian one. I have a place to stay in TO and places to stay on the way... like if the chance was given we would do all we could to support it... i mean we put out hundreds of dollors just to go to a single point here so throwing down a grand to make it to a WF here might just be do able.

If you want a truely Canadian finals with the most competitors. I had 127 cars at the western canadian finals but that included SQ. Kanora is only 20 hrs from Toronto and 15 hrs from Calgary. I would suggest adding an SQ format from some organization to get the most people out to defer costs.
having an average of 20-40 competitors at an event doesn't mean you can justify having a World Finals in a particular area..

it's bigger then just that..once again to reiterate you can't just incorporate another sactioning bodies event into the WF of dB Drag to "defer the cost"
this is the dB Drag World Finals..
not the

"lets get some other competition formats in with us to make it bigger and cheaper for us" World Finals"

Like I said do me a favour and take a look at the stats and see just how many people qualified for the WF in the last couple of years.. take a count like I said and get back to me

And having it in the middle as you said "Winnipeg" is not workable.. it's not simply about the geographical center of Canada and so forth.. it's about getting it in a highly concentrated area of competitors that have the best chance of attending/qualifying for finals.

dont think I'm also saying this because I'm on the east coast as well but it's a fact that thats how it is in this case.
