Do you all remember the flaming sub?
Well, I almost had another incident again today at the Radioactive show. While Chris Cecco and I were testing my amps after the show I thought I blew a coil on my sub. What really happened was the tinsel leads got so hot they burnt through the spider. THe spider is singed all the way to the cone.
I guess I am playing with too much power.

I would say the subs are not built as solid as they should be

i would have to agree with Yuli. I don't there is a sub out there that will take 8000+ watts.

ya there is a legacy gold series . oh wait a minute did yoiu say 8000 or 80 watts cause I could hit 139's with 80 watts

Well considering last year we ran over 16, 000 to each of our subs in our multi subs can take it as long as there treated right.
First we had Treo 18's OLD VERSION - Soft con would fold with 8000
CN Sounds 15's - If built properly should have taken the power with ease but a mdf mounting ring for the spiders, screwed us there..... Sorry Richard
American Bass 15's - Not a chance......LOL
Shocker Sigs ( Built by me ) - Took over 50+ burps on them open door, closed door etc.... Got us to 9th place at World Finals but they took the power no problem!!
Today i'll be running some entry level 15's from treo with 4k on each, we will see (-:

Entry level Treo 15's are still pounding and got us a first place, time to put them back in the board at the shop....LOL
