Bad Alarm
I have a 2002 Saturn l300.. my car has been sitting up for more than six months.. took it to a mechanic he checked it out and stated my alarm is preventing my car from starting. In order to start my car we have to unplug the battery then plug it up then it will start but if you cut it off and try yo start again again it won't start. Took it back to the place that put the alarm on and had them take it off, car would not do nothing.. no lights, no crank, nothing at all. I had to have them connect it back in order for the car to start back up the way I have to. So then I'm trying to tell them obviously it has something to do with the way you guys connected the alarm. Im at my ends wit. They don't want to look into it even though they are the ones who put it on.. should my next step be to take it to a car electrician? Somebody please help!!

Hello and welcome to the Forum,
Sorry your having issues with your Alarm system. This car has some known issues when installing a Remote start system. I haven't heard of any know issues with just an alarm.
Most times with an alarm some people may put in a Starter Kill, This is a relay that while the alarm is Armed it sends a - signal to the relay and removes the starter wire connection. Your message I don't fully understand.
It has been sitting for 6 months and when you went to start it one day it wouldn't start? Or after you had the alarm installed it just stopped working and because of weather and work or whatever life had you didn't get back to the car. Then took to figure out what the issue was?
When you say it won't start? Does it crank over but won't start or does it not even turn over?
Also would help to know what kind of Alarm you have, (Brand, Model #)
If it is a remote start system your Car has a passlock II immobilizer system. Also a know issue the Keysense wire should see ground while using remote start or Check Engine light will come on.
Also most places that install a Alarm or Remote start would know where to look for an issue with your Car not starting. IT is hard to Judge what kind of work was done? Why nothing worked when they removed it means they didn't put things back together once the system was removed.
Again Brand, Model and even features that were added to the alarm system would be a great help and even if you don't think it would matter, (Like you have Ch 4 working your Amp Rack Automation) all features... Could be as easy as a missing Diode.

update...
Thanks to all that replied to my issue.... Took my car to a different alarm shop and they looked at it had for over three hours and stated that it's not the alarm. So now I surely. Don't know what's going on.. I know last year I took it to the shop and had the Ignition Coil, spark plugs and trans serviced. The machanic said it was one more thing that had to get fixed but didn't have enough money for that at the time which he said it was a P040 code E.G.R. sensor.. could that be what's causing this to my car ?????

Ok so does your car not start at? Or just don't start with your remote start system? Sadly of it had a code and won't start at all with or without then you need to check for spark gas. Egr never had a car not start with a bad one just not run right.
Sounds like if you took it in it runs if not sounds like time to get it in to mechanic could be anything at this point.
