LF Reputable Installer in Ottawa

I plan on buying the 2-way Autostart remote car starter on sale at Canadian Tire this week for $108 but need to know where I can get it installed on my '09 Sonata for a reasonable price.

According to a reputable installer (Auto-Links in Toronto), I should be able to have it installed, including bypass module and all gizmo hook-ups, for no more than $200.

Anyone recommend a good place in Ottawa/Gatineau?

i recommend strongly not buying the autstart from canadian tire. I know two different people that had serious issues after installing these. They were professionally installed, just are cheap units.

Well I can counter your 2 bad experiences with 2 good ones hehe. I think it depends on whichn one you get.

My 2 way CT remote has been working great for the past 3+ years.

Where did you go to have it installed and how much did they charge you?

Shamus Customz on Bank or Langlois on Mcarthur would be my two suggestions.

Which CT? Most people avoid CT like the plague... I take it your experience was fine?

I know Langlois very well... have you had any dealings with them yourself? How are their prices?

Forgot to ask as well... did that price include the bypass module and all extra features hook-ups like door locks, trunk, rear defrost and seat heater?

Langlois did the alarm on my past three cars going back to 2001-2002 ish. No problems what so ever. My opinion is they are very knowledgeable, professional & easy to deal with. However, I have not had any work done by them in the past couple years. Nothing bad against them, just haven't had the need. Although I did buy a prefab 12 inch box from them this time last year...I'm just never in or around the east end.

I can't remember what the hourly shop rate was. I always would just get a quote for the alarm + install. Give Erik or Jay a call.

I don't really shop around on price to be honest. I have had some pretty bad experiences with some Ottawa shops (Although it’s funny because one of these charged me a fortune for an install in which Helen ****ing Keller could have done a better job). I refer these two shops (Shamus & Langlois) because I know the guy who will be working on your car has been at the 12V game for a long time. I personally don't mind paying a couple extra dollars and hour for a tech that has 15+ years under his belt.

Shamus did a re-wire and couple audio installs on my Prelude and I was pretty impressed with the shop and service.
