Moving car alarms between vehicles?

Is it even worth it?
I installed a two way paging alarm in my car, a viper 5000, about 11 months ago. Anyways, pretty happy with it, and it won't really help the resale on my car. Would it be worthwhile to take it out (on board shock sensor so not worried about pulling out tons of wiring) along with my car audio gear when the car is sold? It would be nice to avoid a $500 system - I used to work at futureshop so my last one was a much better price

I think you've already answered your own question. To save $500 worth of equipment, I'd say it's worth it, as it shouldn't take very long to get that unit out of there.

P.S.
I just moved from the North Shore, although possibly a little more north than yourself.

At the same time it seems like a pain in the ***. though honestly how bad can it be if I am pulling the center console apart anyways?
