Polar Start not starting
Polar Start not starting
HI,
New guy here.
I recently took my car('01 implala) to an auto garage to have my brakes fixed. When I left and got home my Polar Start car starter wouldn't start the car. Here is what I know:
It is/was not it "Valet" mode.
The lock/unlock function works.
I have a 5 button remote and don't know the model of it.
When I try to start car using remote, parking lights Flash 10 times and thats it.
That's all I know.
Thanks,
Jimisan

That's one possibility, the plunger could be broken. There could also be corrosion preventing good contact between the hood pin switch and chassis. check for broken or loose wires as well.
Ok, a little bit more investigating and I believe I have found the problem. I had the hood up and held down the plunger and tried to start the button and it worked. Kewl! ya!! I am happy. I close the lid and try to start it and it didn't work.
Bummer. Open the hood, take a look at the underside of the hood where the plunger would come in contact with it and wouldn't you know it there is a whole there in the fabric. Now, I know it had a bit of wear when I looked under the hood from time to time, but you can tell this has been tampered with. So I built up the area and it works no probs now. Damn crooks.
Thanks for all the input
