Peronally U can do what ever you want as its your site....I really could care less as I have found & bought more car audio parts form VW sites then Car audio sites which I found very sad...but have found this site to be also useful. Reasoning being is that since this site is Car audio specific it gets less traffic thus those with a few good car audio parts for sale will post where there is more traffic..thus increasing there chances of a quick sale.

Sure it is very nice to have a specific site but we were not arguing that there "should be" a non audio specific link we were only asking to reconsider...so no need to start flames or sound harsh to each other.

I personally would not care about a non specific area as I would not sell anything there but for those that choose so I am open to seeing whats there......Y not have an electronics area then so sofa's do not end up on this site but where people can still have the opportunity to buy/sell computers, mp3's, cell phones & what not that still is somewhat related on a music level?? This would also create alot more traffic flow..not that oyu prolly care but it would open up to more people knowing about the site thus putting more car audio up.

One thing which is very annoying about this site is the fact that you have to PM someone in the classifieds in order to buy stuff thus waiting days for a reply just to find out it was already sold whereas if you could simply just reply straight on the board you could already see if others where interested & if it had sold ...not to mention PM's don't always work for eveyone, But I do understand how people go off topic & start flamming others posts on well it sells here & there for so & so..& what not but maybe you can have everyone who sells there atuff to either post its sold or to erase there post...only suggestions so don't take anything the wrong way.

While I agree with what you said I'm not sure I follow the logic.

You say that there is less traffic because this site is dedicated strictly to car audio.

Letting people sell any items they want in the For Sale section really isn't going to increase site traffic. All it will do is make it so the car audio enthusiasts that are currently on the site wade through a bunch of other junk to find what they really want.

If a VW site wants to add car audio parts because they think it's worth while, that doesn't mean that a car audio site will get increased traffic because we open up a section for VW parts. (I think only DWVW and Coffeyman would be going in to that section)

I think if people were able to keep it stricly automotive related it wouldn't be a big problem. But we've had people try to sell cigars and dishwashers in there before.

A line had to be drawn, so the mods decided to make it car audio only.

As for the "no reply" restriction. You hit the nail right on the head. The section was turning in a a big flame fest and a lot of the replies were just turning it to thread crapping. So that was restricted as well.

These decisions weren't made because the mods feel like being jerks, it was done because the site was getting out of control. Us mods are busy and have things to do away from the computer so we had to take steps to make this site easier to manage.

Oh I do agree about the no reply & have no quarrels about it...it would just be nice if the person who posted could at least reply saying it has been sold.

As for the earlier traffic thing a non car audio may & may not increase traffic & I do agree that it would be annoying to have to search through topice like cigars & sofas if your searchin for car audio.....thats y I was suggesting maybe a other electronics topics..as computers & mp3 players are very closely related these days in the car audio department....I am notsaying by any means to put them together with other car audio as that would be annoying....but in its own class.

I was just doing suggestions but as you have prolly been through this a miilion times already I will leave it be & let you mods do your work.
I do personally like this site but would like to see a little more traffic.

To be honest I agree with a lot of your points, but I'm just one mod. Others have said they like it this way and so do they admins.

It's nice to see you're able to present your opinion in such a logical way though.

Usually all we gets around here are a bunch of complaints.

Btw, instead of people being able to reply to their own for sale ads to say items are sold, the original poster can just edit the ad.

Hey boys I would like to know why its such a BIG DEAL to not allow someone to sell car audio on your forum who just loves car audio and has decided to import high end products from the states that you can't get up here. I'm just a car audio enthusist who got tired of the local box store salesmen knowing nothing about car audio and never being able to find the real high end stuff like CDT audio and TRU technology amps. I decided to become a rep for these two companies but would rather sell direct then through a box store so that the audiophile out there that don't have huge budgets can afford to buy top of the line car audio for half the price. Why not have a section for sellors... YOU ARE A CAR AUDIO SITE... let your members decide if they want to be able to hear about great deals or not. I don't have a store I just meet guys online and give them great deals so they can enjoy amzing sound withough having to sneak around on thier wives to get it.

The name of this site is "CanadianCarAudio", the for sale section should be Canadian Car Audio. If you want to sell something else, probably better off going to another site..

I suppose you didn't really study the vendor rules when u signed up... If u knew the history of the site you'd then also appreciate why quality is better than quantity...and yes I believe many members would love to hear about TRU, maybe if u bumped up the price just a tad so it's still a good deal then maybe you could afford to buy some advertising on the site... That way you make a couple of bux , the site helps u, and u help the site...One hand washes the other .
