A guide for newbies?

I understand that this is my first post, but take it for face value or not - I'm really interested in car audio and I want to know the mechanics behind it all.

Just the basics, you know? I know that an Ohm is a unit of electrical resistance, but from what? What of voltages and amperes?

If it isn't too much to ask.

I'm sure a list of good informative sites could be linked to. This is a really good idea. Perhaps one of the admins would take it upon themselves to link sites they feel offer valuable info.

Ok cool I will add that one to the list and start a thread for the newbs to check out first. Then once they have a basic idea of what they are talking about it will be easier to have questions answered, as no one will have to try and translate what everyone is trying to say.
