15" L7 Kicker WITH... which amp?

ZX850.2 specs:
850 watts RMS x 1 channels at 4 Ohm

ALPINE MRP-M850 CLASS D specs:
500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (800 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

SOUNDSTORM 1F-D2500 Mono Specs:
RMS Power @ 2 ohm 1800W x 1
RMS Power @ 4 ohm 900W x 1

KICKER 08 ZX1000.1 CLASS D specs: (this amp is only if my buddy can sell it to me.. but still just in case i can get my hands on it )
4 ohms: 500rms watts x 1
2 ohms: 1000rms watts x 1

KICKER ZX2500.1 Class D specs: (if i manage to raise the bar on my budget)
4 ohms: 1250rms watts x 1
2 ohms: 2500rms watts x 1

15" L7 specs: (2ohm or 4ohm version, i have the option)
Power range: 100-1,000 watts RMS (500 watts per voice coil)
Peak power: 2,000 watts

right now my system is 2 12" alpine type-s subs, dual ported box, mtx thunder 400rms amp. obviously, the l7 says i wanna upgrade lol, but even with the alpines being my third system i still dont really understand much about the whole deal. but my main question is what would you guys think if i matched either a 2ohm or 4ohm version of the L7 to any one of these, not so randomly, selected amps lol. these are just options i fortunately have been given from a few sources. if some of these dont even make sense to run with this sub then let me know and ill scratch it right off the list
thanks for any help

hey man added you on msn.

i might change my decision to a 15" L5 with a zx750.1 instead cause of budget reasons. but i was just wondering if it will be enough for the sub? at 4ohms its only putting out 375rms but the subs rms handling is 750.
thanks!

If those alpines are in good shape i would stick with those and get a more powerful amp to push em.
They are 300 wrms each so you are under powering them...

Shaker, if you decide to go with the L5 and the ZX750, just make sure that the L5 is a DVC 4 ohm driver. You'll wired the voice coils in parallel to provide a 2 ohm load for the amp, which will give you the 750W to match that sub's RMS.

I've bought a 12" Eclipse SW7200 from MR2NR a bit more than a month ago. Definitely consider him as an option. We don't pay the PST, I believe, since he's in B.C.
How much is the L5 you're looking at? Consider an Eclipse sub if he has one that's comparable.

Sunfired - I know but im still looking for not only something different but that can handle more power so i have even room to play around with later on

TragicMagic - I would be paying around $270 with a ported box. i checked and the sub indeed has 4ohm drivers. it is in excellent condition as well. the only thing that would be new is the box and the amp.

16 1/2" Height X 21 1/2" Width X 18" Depth
3.2 Cu. Ft. Per Chamber

those are the dimensions to the box, dunno if thats good for that sub? and how do i wire the voice coils in parallel?
thanks for the help

15" L5's are a great woofer too, throw around 600-800rms to one and it'll shine.

To wire in parallel you simply connect both positive terminals together, and both negative terminals together.

The L5 is used. Ok.

When I punch those dimensions in the Rockford Fosgate BoxWizard Calculator, it says that the internal volume is 2.86cu.ft. Minus the displacment for the subwoofer, minus the displacement of the port... That seems like an awfully small box for a 15" sub.

The minimum recommended volume for the L5 is 3cu.ft. Those dimensions just don't add up.

The Kicker website won't let me on it right now, argghhh. WTF!
