300 watt amp, alternator dying.

Is it possible for a small 300 watt class D amp powering 1 12" sub to cause the alternator to fry, when everything is wired properly? I really don't believe it can, but i need to clear my name.

its a 94 saturn SW, i never even have it that load, plus the battery was just replaced, after getting stranded 5 times, so i think that may have put some wear on the alt. personnaly ive never heard of a small amp making the alt go caput. ignorance angers me.

if your lights didnt dim it shouldnt have been hard on your alt at all.

HAHA! this is hillarious, when my dad changed the oil he didnt put the frickin cap back on so im guessing oil got on the crank and alt belt, wich will cause it to slip, and with oil on the belt I doubt you would be able to hear it slipping. but i bet youd see smoke.

yeah, that could do it. it does take a fair amount of power to turn over an alt, like 20-40 hp.
