4 battery's and one alternator enough for possibly 700amp draw?
I am currently trying too figure out what I need for battery's and alternator to supply my 2 16-mcd4kw amps and if I have already went over kill? I have 4 Shuriken SK-BT140, 0/0 cable power/ground, and am looking into a 220 amp alternator. Is a 220 amp alternator and 4 140AH battery's going too be enough? I don't see a 220 amp alternator being enough for the system. I'm also unsure what else I require for the battery system like isolators ? I have had no problems in the past but I'm working with an svt focus and room is limited lol so any help would be very much appreciated.

I would go with a large battery up front , as big as you can go , then have the 4 batterys and have them in the back , also do the big 3 under the hood , what helps alot with large stereos is buying a high end battery charger and charging the batterys when your not using the vehicle , that way you get optimum performance from your stereo and it doesnt damage anything from low voltage

no its not that no one is "qualified" to help, you need to do some research for your own well being. On the "shop" note your the customer you can control what you want. Go to the shops and find out there knowledge on what you want to accomplish and see what they suggest, compare notes and you'll quickly see who is wanting you to get "uneccessary items". As Luke mentioned do the big 3 that is a very smart start, to doing things right. Go to the search engine on the forum and enter "Big 3". There is a start for you.

The big 3 is something I have already done not knowing it had a name. I have over the day went to car audio shops all over Edmonton and Calgary and have been told the stereo is too large and will go through alternators, and that there is not enough room under the hood for multipule alternators. I have one more stop during the week in westlock who has had some large systems. I Am going to look under the car tonight to see if I can run a accessory shaft towards the bumper and run another alternator controlled by an ac clutch. If it only comes down to alternator issues all run a Honda engine off the trailer hitch with the required amount of alternators. Thanks for the helpful replays Its getting harder and harder to find info on systems like this it's really getting to be a unpopular hobby/ disappearing. I am approaching this project like my work money is no object if you want things done right without wasting any.

Phone A-Team Audio ( 403 901-3694 ) you want to talk to Clay. Get his opinion on what your attempting to do. For aftermarket alternators go online and look up powermaster, ohio generator, and mechman. I can't tell you if there is an application for your focus but those company's specialize in high output alternators. I personally have had alternators from ohio generator and recently from powermaster I'm happy with my purchase and the product is going to be the cat's *** for my current build. When you call Clay, tell him Steve from Kamloops recommended you to call him.

Thank you very much for the contact number and I have sent emails to power master, stinger, mechman, Ohio, dc power, and excessive amperage asking about alternator options and dc power offers a 370 amp alternator but I am waiting for all email replays back before I decide and info from others. Thanks again
