50x4, what speakers would you reccommend?

I've been looking off and on for the past few years at component speakers, i have a pg tantrum 400.4, which runs at 50w X 4 @ 4ohm, or 100w X 4 @ 2ohm. I have never been sure about what speakers to buy because every set i come across that looks good usually needs upwards of 100-150w, are there any GOOD component speakers out there that only need 50w or power. I always thought that speakers with high sensitivity meant that they were well made and needed less power to produce the same amount of sound? anyway, my door speakers are 6.5" and my rears are 6x9, the rears actually sound pretty good and are nice and loud (infinity reference series), but they drown out the fronts, and my sound stage is too low. so i want a new set for the front that will work with the amp i already have.

My step bro was running some JL 6x9, not entirely sure bout the model but they need 50Wrms, sounded very nice... I bet If you ask about those in a shop they would give You the model.... and door speakers I would think coaxial? Or if not Ive heard good things about Phoenix Gold Rsd series... I think they are 60W, or RE components.... If You have some cash to spend then try JL- Ive heard the VR650-CSi model 60W in the store and it was very good.... $340 retail tho, probably cheaper on the net.... or the 70W XR series

Just because a speaker says it can handle 150watts rms of power does not mean you MUST give them that much power, they will operate just fine with what you have. Your budget will determine the speakers that I would recommend for you. That is what would tell me if you are one of the few or one of the many when it comes to speaker choice.

I went with some Eclipse SP6900's for my setup and I love them. I believe they have a 6.5 set as well in the same line. You can use them as coax or as a passive comp setup. Offers more option anyways at a great price Of course it will always depend on what is in your budget.
