I have the Alpine CDA-9813 and the issue I have with it is that it would be working fine for some time, all of a sudden it loses power. The lights are on but no sound. If I turn the unit power off for some time and then turn it on, it starts to work. Sometimes it powers off after 40 min, other times it is within a few minutes. I am not sure what the issue is.

I had this installed back in 2003 in my car and it works fine until recently. Hopefully it can be fixed and if not, I was thinking of replacing it and was considering the following models:

That deck needs to be wired up directly to the battery, not the cars harness.
Sounds like a voltage issue.

 

Not sure if that may be the case Rob, as I have had this installed in my car for close to 10 years and only now am I experiencing issues. Had it been a bad installation, I would have thought I would be having issues long before.
