Wire Harness question: parking brake wire
Hi there . . . I have a Pioneer 2400BT (DVD touchscreen) installed in my '03 Vibe. Love it, but now I'm adding the Pioneer XM Radio unit which integrates with the HU.
I've hacked up the stereo's harness a bit too much after trouble shooting a few issues early on and adding a junk iphone video-out cable that never worked properly. Anyway, I now have a replacement. Thing is, the replacement (generic thing off ebay) harness doesn't come with the light green parking brake wire.
BUT, there is a yellow/black wire in the spot where the parking brake should be (according to a pin layout diagram I found). I know normally the yellow/black wire is for a "mute" function. but since it's in the spot where the parking brake wire should be, can I just use it as a parking brake wire? I don't know if there's anything special about the light green wire from the standard wire. Like, if it's rated differently or something?
I could order the proper part from Pioneer, but I'd like to get this XM accessory attached and working before the weekend.

7 Right Rear Speaker – Violet/Black
8 Right Rear Speaker + Violet
9 Ground Black
10 Reverse Signal Input Violet/White (EMPTY ON NEW HARNESS)
11 System Remote (Amp Turn On Lead) Blue/White
12 Parking Brake Input Light Green (YELLOW/BLACK ON NEW HARNESS)
13 Left Front Speaker – White/Black
14 Left Front Speaker + White
15 Right Front Speaker – Gray/Black
16 Right Front Speaker + Gray
Anyway, hope this makes sense and any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
