Alpine CDA-9855: No Display

Hello All,

I have an Apline head unit without a functional display. I'm wondering if this
design uses a bulb/lamp to illuminate the screen?

Everything works except the display so I'd like to fix it providing it's just a
lamp of some sort.

Thanks!

push the slide touch bar down till it clicks and hold it for a three seconds. if the screen turns on voila... if not then try the reset button on the face and hope it works when it powers back up.

I had downloaded the manual as I posted up this question.

The reset button is an option that I'll try. I've disconnected the power and
accessory wires in hopes to reset the unit.

Would the black out mode retain memory with power disconnected?

Thanks for the tips so far guys.

If anyone can answer the original question, that would be great as well!

no, power disconnected = everything gone.

just press and hold the slide for 3 seconds, see if the screen comes back on.

Before I removed the unit for inspection, I don't believe pressing buttons,
or touching the slider worked.

I may have enable a "screen off" mode as I was fooling with the menus,
but it's highly unlikely since I've tried removing power to reset.

I';ll give you all an update tonight, or tomorrow as the face is currently in
pieces. Thanks for your help.

No luck

I tried the reset and slider for 3 seconds.

It seems I'll need some parts; I just don't know if it's the LCD screen, a lamp,
or possibly an in-circuit protector (ICP)?

Without a schematic I'm lost. Do any of you know where to get one, or
have ideas of what to check?

Here are some pics:

Thanks!
