Does anybody else have a problem with AM radio on the Alpine? Mine sounds awful. It has a cracking noise. Can't listem to it at all.
I miss my 680 news traffic reports, espcially when i get sent downtown to work.
on AM, i expect the high pitched screaming noise that is normal with poor am reception, but this is worse.

My other problem with the alpine is it doesn't recognise tittle, track or artist. 2 out of my 200 cd's come up with tittles.
It doesn't have any radio station ID's. was i spoiled by the factory radio with RDS? The factory radio always had station ID and sometimes track info and even weather reports. Why can't alpine use RDS?

 

Most Alpines do not bring up song title info to often.... I know with my 9855 and my 7998 very few of my discs give me title info, a few of my newer disc sdo have some info but not many. As far as the RDS goes, some older Alpines did have RDS but that was a few years ago.

What kind of car is you 9855 in that gives you poor AM reception?? I have mine in a Honda Civic that has no antenna on the outside it is in the rear window which usually means crappy reception but mine is great. I did however have bad AM reception with my Alpine DVA-310 in my Maxima. I am assuming that your vehicle is a GM product because of the RDS but some Nissans do have it aswell.

 

I have it in my 06 MonteCarloSS, but it made the same noise in my 97 Cavalier Z24. I thought it was car noise, but it does the same noise with the car off.
