Amp constant ticking noise.

Hey all.
So yesterday the rear left speaker in my car started making a ticking noise instead of playing music. It's a constant noise, ticking every second instead of playing music. I'm running an eclipse xa4000 and I've isolated the ticking sound to the rear left channel of the amp. It also occurs when the rear channels are bridged. It's not a grounding issue and the speaker is fine. It occurs at all times and increases with the volume. I'm stumped as to what it could be and I'm guessing maybe the amp is stuffed. If anyone has any ideas on what it could be other than the amp being stuffed, any input will be appreciated. Also if anyone knows how and wether it's worth fixing, that would also be handy. Thanks in advance.

I'd isolate the amp, by removing it from the car and testing it. That will remove the car as a potential noise maker if the noise is still there. At that point, it's the amp. Might be something cheap and simple...get an estimate. If the noise is gone, then it gets a lot harder to find. Given that it's only the one channel though, I'd be inclined to believe it's the amp. Have you switched rca cables, speakers, speaker wire, etc..to test?
