big 3 for the big dummy
first off that is waayyy out of line for a big 3!!! as Dukk stated $250 - $300 is the norm.
you can do it yourself for the cost of material which is about $100 if you go all the way and heat shrink to the mix.
i say do it yourself if your not afraid to get your hands dirty and know at least a little about crimping and wires.
pm me your location. i am willing to come by and give you some pointers. you can see my setup even though its not done yet!

I'm not ready to install yet.as I'm still waiting for a couple pieces of gear.but it sounds like I was quoated a bit high for the install.maybe I can go back and see what he says.As far as the big 3 as soon as im ready in a couple weeks. i will om ya and check it out ...Im sure a case a beer and some wire clipper's and I'll figure it out lol.
I don't understand why the big 3 would be so expensive, there is a vid on youtube of how to do it. You just need to connect the 0awg wire to certain places. Just pay for the wire and do it yourself!

Well, for a shop you have to figure in up to 10feet of wire and 6 0ga rings. I figured about a hundy for shop grade stuff. The rest is labour. To do a good job on a car you don't work on very often is going to take at least a couple of hours and could be half a day if the car is miserable at an estimated shop rate of $60/hr.

shops are in business to make money! i support my shops for the work/material if needed. mostly not needed! they need to eat too but to want to charge such an exorbitant amount for a simple big 3.
like everyone is saying. do it yourself and be proud in the knowledge that you did it. my offer to lend a hand still stands if you want (no charge, im not a shop).
Georgie: here is a site that will give you almost everything you need answer wise. your question has a long winded answer.. too long to jack someone else s thread. www.bcae1.com
Just to be clear here, was the 1000 dollar price point for the entire install? Or just the big three? And why are we doing 1/0 AWG? 4 AWG would make plenty sense for most installs between 1000-1900W. I'd bump to 1/0 after 2000W just because of the increased load. Just upgrading the factory wiring to 8 or 10 AWG (with no system) makes a difference in load to the charging system. The factory stuff is typically that sizing anyways, but with a MUCH lower strand count.
It was just for install.but at that price I hoped it was included...called..they say.300-400.At this point I think I will do some stuff myself. The cost is now up to 1500 .to install the mentioned equipment and add the big three.I hope I'm not the guy with a living room full of car audio cause of (what I deem to be) over inflated install costs.
