Box Question for 3 Subs

Hey everyone, this is my first post here.

Im currently running 1 15" Type R and wanted to put 2 12" type R's in as well.

My questions/concern is;

Concern:
If i build one box for all 3 subs will the magnets affect each other because there is a difference in size?

Question:

Should i chamber each sub and port independently or one big box with an adiquit port?

I wouldnt recommend it unless you want alot of work for nothing special. I would suggest building a really nice box for either th 15 by itself or the 2-12s by themselves. You could do crazy stuff and put the 2-12s in a shared chamber tuned to 35-45 hz and the 15 in its own chamber tuned to like 30hz. It would work but i dont know how it would sound..??

This is my box. its one 12 and two 10's. All type R's.

You must put them all in there own chambers. also I wouldn't recommend porting any of them. Mine are all sealed and It sounds awesome. If you put them all in a ported box, some frequencies will cancel each other out and sound like no matter how there tuned. Running different size subs can be done but stick to a sealed box, you'll have a lot more success.

Im rolling around with evidence that it can be done right now in my trunk. But your right its kinda the same for a sealed box as-well but after dialing in my EQ it sounds unreal. Seriously.

Is your 15 or 12's in ported boxes? If not, port the 12's and forget about the 15.

Dizzam thats a huge box. I just won second place at a comp for super street nw (i think that was my class) with my 15.

Its a shame you say to go sealed, there is no way i can give them enough room in my trunk, im driving a 1997 hyundai accent.

My 15 is currently ported, its in a very small box but its LOUD. i dont remember exactly but i think the dimensions of my box are 21"H x 20W x 18 (bottom) 23 top depth. port is 2"wide, 6 long, and 4.5 deep.

I only hit 140.8 at 47 hz. Which leaves me with this question.
Is that my cars freq? or enclousure?

If there is anyone in the Toronto or peterborough area and wants to help me with a design id realy like to meet up.

You could do it if you want to. You just need proper control of your frequencies. In your case, I'd port the 15 as low as you can get away with. Then run the 12's sealed from like 50-100hz or so. It is alot of work and requires two dedicated amps with some good Xover control. You could get away with it but I'd stick to one or the other personally, could maybe sell the 15" and get another 12.

Just because you can do something does not mean that you should..... if a fat chick can squeeze herself into spandex......well you get the drift.
