bunch of amp ?`s
hey guys, first post here, obviously new, and couldnt find a noob section to post in lol!
i just bought a 12" kicker 07cvr122, its 800 max 400 rms.
now, im lost on this whole impediance thing, way too many terms to learn not enough time. can someone give me an explanation of ohm's etc?
also, im looking at an 800 watt max 400 rms audiobahn amp, its a 2 channel.
will i be able to put all 400 watts to the sub or will it only be 200 because its a 2 channel? ive read about bridging a little bit, putting the positive on channel 1 pos terminal and the negative on channel 2 negative terminal. will that put 400 watts straight to the sub?
thanks for your time guys
Brad

IF this is the amp you're talking about,
Audiobahn A8002T key keatures:
200 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
400 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
800 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
stereo or bridged mono output
800 watts into the sub might be a bit overkill. If you're carefull with your gain and volume control, it will work. But most people like to show thier freinds how loud it will go and thats when they blow thier sub.
Anyway, that sub is dual voice coil, 2 ohms each. When you put the 2 coils in series, you get a 4 ohm load. (I use 2 of the 15's)
You could use the same amp i've got, Pioneer GM-5100T, new one is 5300. It does 380 Wrms when bridged to a 4 ohm load.
