Changed RCA's, ran into unique problem

I am running two 10" JBL in sealed box 250 rms each off an mtx 6001 /600 rms with digital read capacitor. Everything was set up and ran fine with great bass. The only problem is I had to change my rca cable because they were high quality didn't flex ,pushed my HU to much out of dash and didn't allow the antenna plug to connect. I changed rca to a lower model but still good quality that fit. My HU is alpine with 4v sub pre-out.I didn't change any settings, now my bass doesn't hit as good ,actually very noticeble difference. I had my gain set before to go with an 18 volume setting on HU without problem now if I raise volume to even 15 to hear better bass my amp heats up really quick and doesn't seem to draw from the cap like it use to. Im wondering if just by coincidence my amp has decided to go at the exact time I changed the cable but the amp is new.
Any suggestions, ideas or help greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

This should not have happened by simply swapping RCA's, it is probably something other than the RCA. Most likely a setting got changed (HU or amp) or there is a loose RCA connection or you jarred another connection loose (power to the amplifier or even the HU)

Switch back to the old rca and see if the problem goes away, if it does you got a bad set of rca's.

confirm that you RCA cable is working properly by trying the old one like someone else suggested, and if that is okay then when you pulled the deck out if you unplugged the main power check that your settings are what they should be.
