Alright. The woofers you mentioned are single 4 ohm drivers. Either one of those amps will put 500watts into a 4ohm load. If you buy a single 81001 and connect both woofers to it, it will put out 1000watts into the pair, so 500watts each. Same power but one less amp to buy.

Now if you buy a pair of 81001s and strap them together you'll get 3000watts into that pair of woofers which would be really cool until the voice coils melted.

I suggest a single 81001 to run both woofers.

The amp does not care what speaker or combination of speakers you have. All it cares about is the load that those speakers present to the amp. Two four ohm speakers wired in parallel is a 2 ohm load that the MTX 81001 amp will power with no problem.

The sub does not magically change, there is no waving of the hand over the sub saying, "you are now 2 ohms and don't need to be 4". The subs, each sub is still 4 ohms no matter what. When they are wired together in a parallel circuit, the net load changes to 2 ohm as the amp "sees" both subs wired together as 1, not separate as 2. Do not confuse the each sub with the both wired together as this is what you are doing. So again, each sub will still be 4 ohm, each sub will still be receiving 500w of power and no SQ will not suffer.
