That good old wire from Home Depot

Now I was in Home Depot, and I saw some huge gigantic stranded 3/0 and 4 guage copper wire. Can this be used in the place of more fancier brand name wiring like Ka-noo koncupts?

Cheers

Knukonceptz is pronounced 'new•con•cepts'

as far as that wire, good luck trying to bend it in and around your car. its hard enough trying to make 3/0 awg try and go thru a 2" conduit pipe let alone the bends in your car

If I were you, I would stick to some 1/0 gauge. I've used welding cable before from Princess Auto. It was dirt cheap and worked great.

Another issue you will run into is trying to hook anything over 1/0 to a distroblock or an amplifier.

its a great idea, and it would most likely work. I mean if it can handle 600V/200A disconnects then i'm sure it could handle 12V DC.

problem is trying to bend that wire thru your car. its just not very practical.

I like Ka-noo koncupts better. But you will definitely have a hard time running that wire. 1/0 can be a challenge at times

there is some ElGlobo wire Kit 1/0awg, but the actual wire is somewhere in between 2 and 4awg, still a good deal since you get battery terminal, fuse box, main fuse, d block all the terminals and additional wires. all for $80
