JL amp issue

My friend gave me his JL monoblock and he says that power goes to the amp but no power goes to the subs, At first i thought it would be a fuse but there are no visible fuses on the outside, would it be a fuse on the inside? or is the amp fkd?

Hard to say without taking it apart. If you do, take some close up pictures of the power supply, complete board and anywhere that looks "blackened" or burned.

Also look closely at the lines in the board. Sometimes they heat up and lift above the board and break.

Can you post high-res pics of the inside? I repaired my e1800D and I'll bet it's much the same.

Did your friend troubleshoot it while it was in his vehicle. It could have been a problem with the signal to the amp.

ya he did, swapped it with his new JL amp and it works great just this amp isnt doing it, i still havnt had the time to open it up yet, hopefully this weekend. he was saying that some of the side ports were a bit wobbly so maybe the connections to the board arnt so good.
