Just got the following deck not to long ago. So I shut the car off as normal one day and the next day, gps single lost shows up. I can no longer get a single. I called Jvc and they gave me so update. I installed it into the unit but I still got nothing. Any ideas. I don’t want to rip it out just to get it fix. It’s still under warranty so its no big deal.

You will need to sent this in for repair. I have read on other sites that once it loses the GPS signal it is 99% related to a chip on the main board and it has failed.

At least it is still under warranty.

I have had mine for 4 months and no problems so far. Knock on wood. A freind of mine who has the same deck ran in to the same problem less then a month ago and JVC was able to fix it for him in less then a week.

i have had the same issue. the latest update fixed this. took a while to pick up gps signal again but it hasent lost it since then

I have the solution for you. I have one abd I know what it is.

When you have the "What I call" Lost GPS Signal "of death".

- First shut off the car.
- Remove both cables from car the battery.
- Wait 1/2 hour
- Press the brake pedal for 15-30 sec, just to discharge capacitor
- Put everything back
- start engine
- Power ON the unit and soon you should see GPS signal
- Update the unit.

NB you will not be able to update the unit if the GPS is in error mode like Lost GPS Signal.
