Hello,

I have a Kenwood KDC-BT365U where I haven't been able to detach the faceplate.

When I press the detach button nothing happens.

Perhaps somethings stuck but I don't want to damage the radio trying to force a detach of the faceplate.

 

After removing the radio and it's bezel I started to remove the fascia and noticed a small screw on narrow side near the detach button. Removing this screw the detached buttons starts to function.

The screw when screwed down prevents the detach mechanism from functioning.

I picked up this Kenwood used as a store return. Perhaps the screw is there to prevent the faceplate from becoming detached during shipping and handling ? or for some other reason?
